2003 Pontiac Vibe - 5Y2SN64L83Z- Viola, AR: January 18th, 2012
Over the past couple years, my battery goes dead when the temperature approaches or goes below freezing. I replaced the battery about a year and half ago because i thought that was the problem. Unfortunately the incidents have continued. I used to keep my car in the garage and the incidents were more limited. I now keep my car outside and the frequency has increased to almost every time the temperature drops below freezing. Such an incident in january 2011 caused my cd player to stop working. December 2011 and january 2012 the incidents continued. I removed the stereo head unit in case that was the source of the problem. The incidents of the battery going dead have continued whenever the temperature is around or below freezing.

And the fan fuse was blown my car is only 5yrs old the has to be a defect my machine told my the baring or bushing were gone in the motor. If i didn't happen to notice the problem i would have blown the engine i am also wondering if this is part of the recall for the cooling problem that has to do with sensors.

2010 Pontiac Vibe - 5Y2SN6E07AZ- Blairstown, NJ: July 28th, 2011
The clutch in my 2010 pontiac vibe gt failed while driving at 45 mph. The car would rev but with virtually no acceleration ability. Luckily i was on a rural road and able to pull over. My vehicle has 36k miles on it. I have 31 years of manual transmission driving experience and i have never had to replace a clutch... Especially with this little amount of mileage. Online, there are at least 5 pages of complaints from different gm customers dating from as far back as 2004 giving their own accounts of the same low mileage clutch failures on their pontiac vibe gts. Gm has done nothing to correct this obvious and potentially deadly design flaw. They have stood by their claims of 'user error' in each and every case, regardless of the driver's experience and skill with clutch driving. Some of those accounts claim that their service managers admitted to them that there is a flaw in the car but they told the customer that they cannot do anything about it because gm will not own up to their design mistake.

2009 Pontiac Vibe - 5Y2SP67889Z- Aberdeen, MD: July 18th, 2011
2 weeks ago, i started smelling a gas odor coming from the front of my car as i drove. Then as i started it and stopped it ; i smelled it. Now it smells like exhaust all the time. I took it to the dealer today and they went over the entire exhaust and gas system and said it is fine. They agreed there is a "chemical smell", but nothing is wrong or the computer system would alert us. I picked up my car and it still smells like exhaust, not a "chemical". My husband and i became nauseous driving after and hour last week and had to roll down the windows. He said he was light headed. It never smelled like this before and i can't stand driving it not only because it stinks but possible carbon monoxide. *kb

2009 Pontiac Vibe - 5Y2SM67019Z- Knightdale, NC: July 10th, 2011
When traveling at low speeds (less than 35), there is a noticeable shaking / vibration / rattling noise coming from either the steering column or front shocks, especially when driving over rough surfaces or bumps. I have not yet had the dealer inspect the issue. Seems as if some component has come loose.

2004 Pontiac Vibe - 5Y2SM62854Z- Stewartstown, PA: June 5th, 2011
On june 4, 2011 my wife was driving a 2004 pontiac vibe on rt. 83 from pennsylvania into maryland where approximately 1/2 mile from the parkton, md exit, the car began to shake violently in the right lane of the highway. The driver front tire popped loose as it severed itself from the sidewall and literally rolled down the breakdown lane as the car was pulling to the side of the road. I have pictures of the tire. No debris was in the roadway and no objects were struck during this event. The approximate speed of the vehicle was 65-70 mph. The problem is that this is not the first time. In late november 2010, my wife was driving the same vehicle in rehoboth beach, de driving approximately 50 mph on rt. 1. The rear driver side tire suddenly burst and separated at the sidewall. The tires have been replaced. The latest tire was replaced by sears auto center in york, pa where the old tire is being shipped back to goodyear (in response to roadside warranty). The tire sidewall rubber compound appeared very hard and brittle. The goodyear triple tread tires were purchased in 2008 and had approximately 30,000 miles on them. 2 out of 4 tires had this unexplained sidewall blow out, another tire was replaced earlier because of a nail puncture. We decided to replace all tires with another model and get rid of our triple treads. We believe the tires to be unsafe and are concerned that others may be having the same problems. These are high end tires that are supposed last 80,000 miles with superior traction.
