2012 Nissan Murano - JN8AZ1MU8CW- Irving, TX: August 29th, 2012
Car battery died suddenly with no lights or anything else left on. It happened twice and was exactly same. Both cases i was stranded with no other options to tow the car and need to take taxi to get my family home, i was lucky to have access to taxi. Dealers were unable to locate and fix the fault in both cases and give me lame excuse something was left on. For me it's serious safety issue as i can't afford to take my family in this car with no confidence that when would it die again. My family was stranded once outside in 100f heat and i don't want this to happen again. Either they identify the issue and fix it or take the car back and replace it with similar car. Regards

2010 Nissan Altima - 1N4AL2AP2AN- Navarre, FL: August 28th, 2012
When servicing the vehicle for a bad battery, i told the service rep that water would leak into the vehicle and drip down the door trim onto the drivers side of the vehicle. They said there was a problem with the drain lines with the sunroof. (this has been opened only a few times since we owned the vehicle) they said they cleaned the lines. Since that time, i have noticed water on the drivers right side carpet. They asked me to bring in the car for service. On 28 aug 12, i went out to my vehicle and heard water in the passenger door. I called our local nissan service center for an appointment on 30 aug 12. Thanks in advance for looking into this for us.

2005 Nissan Altima - 1N4BL11D154- Fort Wayne, IN: August 28th, 2012
I was changing the oil on my 2005 nissan altima and realized the floorboards are nearly completely rusted through. I lifted the carpet inside the cabin and realized it is rusted through. I had my oil changed at the local nissan dealership for oil changes. When i inquired about the floorboards they stated nissan altima 2005 had a 5 year corrosive warranty for the underbody and it is out of warranty for this repair. I am concerned of the safety of driving this model. The rusted floorboards are near the front driver seats. I am also concerned because of water or mold near the front floor vents could enter the cabin through the rusted floorboards. The fort wayne nissan stated they did not notice this rust during my oil changes. I began changing my oil when the car was just out of warranty. I immediately realized the rusty floorboards. This is a common problem in all 2002-2005 nissan altima problems. I would like nissan of north america to address and resolve this issue.

2007 Nissan Titan - 1N6BA07A57N- Franklin, TN: August 24th, 2012

2011 Nissan Leaf - JN1AZ0CP3BT- Los Angeles, CA: August 24th, 2012
I have run into what i believe is a small design flaw. While user error is clearly involved, a simple software fix could prevent this from happening. Scenario: 1) leaf is parked in grocery store parking lot on a slight downhill slope. 2) startup sound is turned off. 3) push start button while not pressing on brake pedal adequately - leaf goes into accessory mode. 4) try to shift into reverse, not looking at dash screen to see that leaf is in accessory mode. 5) press down on parking brake lever to disengage parking brake. 6) press accelerator. Result: the leaf is still in accessory mode, but has shifted into neutral after step #4. Once parking brake is off and foot is on accelerator, there is nothing to keep the leaf from rolling forward. This is not hypothetical, it happened to me twice in the last year. One time i hit a shopping cart, but fortunately put the brake on in time and the front license plate holder protected my leaf from damage. Comment: in my opinion, trying to shift into drive or reverse while the leaf is in accessory mode should not put the leaf in neutral--it should still be in park. This simple change would prevent the possibility of this happening. The leaf can still shift to neutral in accessory mode by moving the shifter to the left and holding it there for 2 seconds.

2006 Nissan Titan - 1N6AA07B16N- Westborough, MA: August 24th, 2012
My 2006 titan started vibrating like running over rumble strips on side of highway. Took straight to dealership. Was told that the cooling system split and contaminated the transmission. I had to have the transmission and radiator replaced $7313. 56. There was no warning or anything. After reading many complaints for the same thing on other nissan vehicles, there needs to be an investigation and a recall on the cooling system that can cause this amount of damage.

The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000. Kmj

2013 Nissan Altima - 1N4AL3AP4DC- Batesville, MS: August 22nd, 2012
I bought a new 2013 altima 2. 5 sl on 7/26/12, with 104 miles on it since it was delivered from another dealer. On 7/29/12 a warning light came on and the owner's manual said that possibly the gas cap was not tight. This was not the case. Manual said that if the light was not flashing, then it would clear after a few trips. It did not clear, so i drove 25 miles to dealer 8/3/12 for them to test. They said it was a bad catalytic converter and would be replaced the next day. The following day, the service manager called and said that when they removed the converter that its contents spilled on the shop floor; and that their contacts with nissan was that this had happened on others and thus the engine had been ruined and that nissan would replace the engine. I stated that i did not want a replaced engine because of all of the required disassembly and reassembly involved, especially with a car only a few days old and having driven only approximately 160 miles. I had paid for a new car and wanted a completely new car as a replacement. I have filed a case with nissan, but so far they have done nothing but say that they are reviewing the situation. The selling dealer has been very cooperative, said that they agree with me and have stated that they have also contacted nissan on my behalf and requested that a new replacement be provided. Since nissan has seen this situation on more than one occasion, they were aware that they had faulty catalytic converters and that catastrophic failure was the result. These are not cars with several thousand miles use and several months old; but rather mine was less than a week old. Nissan should not give the buying customers the run-a-round, but do the proper thing and replace the cars with new ones like we paid for. I was under the impression that they sold quality products and had a reputation for good customer service.

2009 Nissan Maxima - 1N4AA51EX9C- Chaska, MN: August 21st, 2012
We noticed a strange noise when we started our 2009 nissan maxima and realized it was the steering column making the noise and that it was having trouble going up and down. It would just keep trying to move until you hit the button on the side of the steering column. (the button where you adjust how you want your steering wheel. ) within that day, the steering column tilt quit working. When we brought it in to the dealership we were told that the steering wheel tilt motor needed to be replaced. I was told that there are no recalls issued on this and we are out of warranty. The dealership said the only thing we can do is call nissan and see if they will pay or split the cost of this repair as i pointed out that there seems to be numerous occurrences of this type of steering column failure. At this point i have called nissan and have been issued a case number. We have paid for the repairs but are hopeful that nissan accept at least partial responsibility and refund us some of the repairs...

2005 Nissan Altima - 1N4L11D455N- Westborough, MA: August 14th, 2012
I brought my car to be serviced at glick nissan, the diagnostic report said that the left and right sides of the floor under passenger and driver seats are rusted out. I brought my car for a second opinion from another mechanic and his report said the rust is severe and in 6 months my car will be worth nothing! Upon further investigation, i find that thousands of other nissan customers are experiencing the same problem due to a defective product used by nissan. I filed a claim with nissan north america, they are claiming zero responsibility, labeling the issue as an "environmental concern" and will in no way assist with repairs. Nissan should take responsibility for this issue.
