I was driving at about 15 mph all of a sudden power steering froze. Warning light "service advancetrac" and "power steering failure came on. I turned car off and on and steering was back to normal. Sync screen blanks out and stays off. Performs "system maintenance" frequently. Says that the navigation card is faulty. Back up camera does not come on, but system says it is functioning. Has been taken to the dealership twice for repairs. They have performed a reset both times which temporarily restores function. Was told that nothing further could be done unless lincoln came out with an update.

2013 Lincoln Mks - 1LNHL9FT3DG- College Park, MD: August 23rd, 2012
The vehicle lost all ability to accelerate while operating at approximately 65 mph on an interstate highway. This forced the operator to coast the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway while navigating through traffic. The powertrain malfunction/reduced power (rtt) wrench symbol illuminated in addition to the service engine soon light. Before the tow truck arrived the operator attempted to move the vehicle under its own power every 15 minutes. Within approximately 40 minutes the vehicle responded to the accelerator and was driven to the operator's residence. The service technician diagnosed that the throttle body lost electrical power forcing a fail safe mode that disconnected the accelerator control. ## vin passed ## lincoln mks 2013 ##

2006 Lincoln Town Car - 1LNHM81W5 6- Warner Robins, GA: August 6th, 2012
On the previous day i had replaced the left side low beam headlight bulb twice which did not fix the problem. Thought it would be a simple fix for a burnt out bulb. Turns out the origional bulb was not bad at all. Took car to dealer for diagnostic check. Problem turned out to be a lighting module ($659. 25 part) not repairable, that had to be programed ($239. 63 fee) by dealer before being reinstalled. This module also affected my brake lights which i was told were not working. If i had been out on the road when this occured instead of my local traffic area i think it could have been a safety issue. I feel this would have been a safety situation since i never knew my brake lights were not working and also not being able to get my headlight to work. What if both headlights had gone out while i was driving at highway speed because of this module. This situation also put me as car owner into the position of not being able to fix a simple headlight problem and turning it into a major car repair ($905. 61 bill). I feel the use of modules to control headlight lighting is a major safety issue. It should not cost nine-hundred dollars to fix a headlight problem. I foresee down the road a whole lot vehicles with these modules having no lights. So much for the modern era. Give me the old style electrical system with just wire and fuzes. Part no: fmc 7w1z 13c788 a processor - lighting.

Park my car after returning from work. A couple hours later my wife returned in her car and noticed the strong smell of gasoline in the garage. Upon further inspection, the weld seem on the gas tank has separated and leaking gas. There is a recall for this issue # 08s06 but the dealership has informed me that my manufacturing date does not match that of the recall. This to me seems suspicious.

As i was approaching my left turn into the community i live in and driving about 45 mph, i stepped onto the brake and the car engine started accelerating. There was a vehicle approaching in the opposite direction which was the reason i was trying to stop. I pushed down on the brake but the engine continued to accelerate. I shifted into neutral and the engine slowed down. This is a very dangerous situation to be in. This happened twice since i owned the vehicle. I took it to the dealer but they could not re-create the situation again.

2010 Lincoln Mkz - 3LNHL2GC6AR- Portage, MI: June 1st, 2012
Backed crookedly into parking slot in public parking lot. Tried to straighten car in slot by slowly moving forward. Car on its own lurched ahead at high rate of speed; brakes had little effect and i struck a parked car. Somehow shifted into reverse and car on its own gained ferocious speed traveling backwards. This forward, then backward pattern continued on its own while i struggled to control the steering wheel. In reverse, car continued gaining speed beyond my control, wheeling about the parking lot and striking 3 or 4 additional autos. During all this time the car shot mostly backward at increasingly faster speeds in wide arcs, in pinball fashion. Eventually the repeated hammering by my car against other parked vehicles slowed my car enough that i could brake finally, and turned off the engine. Altogether my auto had struck and seriously damaged 6 other vehicles. Accelerator seemed stuck during the event, and brakes had no effect until car's speed was sufficiently slowed--before operating. Damage to my auto, particularly the entire front end--grill and front fenders--was extensive.

2005 Lincoln Ls - 1LNHM86SX54- Bellerive, IL: May 4th, 2012
On at least 5 different occasions at highway speeds and trying to pass, car has lost all power and the wrench indicator has appeared on the dash, at that time car looses all power and the only choice is to pull over and shut car down , which does not always work while you are in traffic on a three lane highway with out you getting killed or injured by other drivers. I have contacted our local ford garage..... I explained to jack in service and he explained to me that he has seen more and more of these problems and the cure was to replace the throttle body.... I am wondering if this is a safety issue and should be taken care of by ford/ lincoln. I hoping to get this situation resolved before someone gets hurt or killed in a accident.

2007 Lincoln Mkx - 2LMDU88C47B- Dayton, OH: May 3rd, 2012
We dropped my 2007 ford lincoln mkx off at interstate ford, 125 alexandersville road, miamisburg, oh on 8 apr 2012 for a warranty repair (ptu). At first, they told me it would only be a couple of days, then they said that the part should be in on 13 april. Then they said that it should be in on 27 apr but that they weren't sure if it was being released. I called this morning and the part still isn't in. It has now been almost a month (may 3) and i still don't have my car back. I know it's in the warranty to not provide a loaner car. But, when they have no idea when the part is coming in and it's been a significant amount of time, then ford should step up to the plate and do something about it. They should provide a loaner car. It should not take this long for a warranty repair. I also think that there should be a recall on this because it is all over the internet that this is a known problem with mkx and a safety issue. I would like to see a recall on this vehicle and a change in the warranty. It's so bad that the part is on backorder nationwide. Even though this did not cause a crash; i believe that it would have if i kept on driving it!
