2005 Jaguar X-type - SAJWA51C35W- Cloverdale, CA: May 23rd, 2012
I will start by saying that i love my jaguar. It is the best car i have ever had, with one exception. This is now the fifth incident of cracking rims (size 7. 5x180 et52. 5) on my 2005 jaguar x-type (equipped with the sport premium package). I went out to put the garbage out on sunday, 20may12, when i noticed the front driver's tire was low. I checked the pressure, and the guage showed 0. That night i put in 40 psi of air. The following day i checked it again, and the guage showed 20 psi. It is important to state the vehicle had not been used since 19may12 to that point. I jacked up the car, and pulled the wheel off the car. After spraying with soapy water on the inside rim by the sidewall, i found it was bubbling. I put the spare on the car. Later i switched the spare so it could be on the driver's rear (so it would not be on a wheel thet steers). On a whim, i checked the wheel that was on the driver's rear side and found it was cracked as well. I sprayed soapy water and found it was not bubbling. I called the local jaguar dealer, who stated they have not had issues with their rims, and no recall has been issued for them. I find the cracking rims to be a huge safety issue. My wife and i have spent approximately $600 on wheel repairs. Every factory original wheel on the car has been cracked; some more than once. We have also spent a lot of money on new tires because the rims were cracked and destroyed some of the tires' sidewalls. The most recent cracks were docummented via photos from my iphone. I have heard of other people having issued with their jaguar rims, yet i have not seen a recall on this item. It really should be. This is the car we take our four-year-old to daycare. We also use the car for family outtings and shopping. *tt

1998 Jaguar Vanden Plas - SAJKX6242WC- Howey In The Hills, FL: March 5th, 2012
Engine stalls at any speeds with no advance warning. Power steering and power brakes are therefore also inoperable. Vehicle must be coasted in this condition to a stop and put in "park" before it will restart. This obviously is a life-threatening maneuver in multiple lanes of 70 mph specially when my wife and kids are in the car.

2006 Jaguar X-type - SAJWA51A16W- Warrior, AL: March 1st, 2012
With my brakes applied and slowing to a stop at the bottom of an interstate exit ramp, my car seemed to jerk and then suddenly accelerated as if it was trying to go into passing gear. I immediately pressed the brakes as hard as possible and shifted into neutral so i could stop and avoid hitting the car in front of me. While in neutral, the engine kept revving and the tachometer was in the red. I turned the engine off to keep from damaging it and put the car in park. After the car in front of me had gone, i started my car to see if the engine would run properly. It seemed to be okay, so i carefully drove to my home which was about three more miles. Several weeks prior, i had a similar incident when i was parking at the grocery store, but i was in the process of turning off the engine. When i started the car to leave the grocery store, everything seemed to be okay and i didn't think any more of it. I found several other people on line that have experienced the same problem but none of them could prove it to their dealer and nothing was done about it. I guess it will take someone getting killed before anything gets done about this sudden acceleration problem with the 2006 jaguar x-type. This incident has upset me and i am afraid to drive this car, but i don't have another vehicle to drive.

At stated mileage, drivers passive restraint system stopped working. Dealership performed 763700 diagnostic warranty to troubleshoot system. A parts request was made to jaguar. Dealer stated oem supplier had gone out of business and parts to service the passive restraint system were no longer available. I was placed on a waiting list for future service parts, provided jaguar may or may not make them available. Passive restraint system is under warranty per original recall. Dealership removed drivers passive restraint fuse to disable restraint system. Dealership informed me that many jaguars these years are needing service parts for the passive restraint system. Dealership was very helpful in identifying the problem.

2011 Jaguar Xf - SAJWAOFB1BL- Bryn Mawr, PA: December 3rd, 2011
I was on highway with my family travelling 60 mph when the car suddenly accelerated.. I took my foot off the gas and the speed failed to decrease. I applied the brakes which did work but the engine still continued to race. . The brakes overtook the acceleration and slowed the car but each time i took my foot off the brakes the car resumed accelerating at a high speed( without my foot on the gas. ) i slowed the car by applying with force the brakes which was causing a burning smell probably from the brake pads. I drove the car to the closest shoulder of the highway ( about 1/2 mile) that i encountered at which point i placed the car in neutral while it was still moving slightly while my foot pushing hard against the brake.. While the car was in neutral the engine still continued to race although the car was stationary at that point. I turned off the engine and then waited about five minutes. After five minutes i turned on the engine at which time it was not racing. The car was taken to my jaguar dealership and left there for three days. A report was sent by the dealer to jaguar although my dealership was unable to determine the cause of the sudden acceleration.
