The lock actuator on the rear hatch broke and i was unable to close the hatch or lock the vehicle. After dissembling the actuator there was a small plastic pin that broke that prevented the latch from engaging. 2013 Infiniti Jx35 - 5N1AL0MM3DC- Oceanport, NJ: July 17th, 2012
I bought the jx 35 on april 17, 2012 looking to downsize and because of the safety features. About a month into owning the car, as i was driving the iba (intellect brake assist) suddenly stopped my car to a complete stop on a bridge. There were no cars in front of me, and luckily the car behind me wasn't driving too close to me or i would have been hit. My seatbelt tightened as well. My 2 year old daughter was with me. I immediately drove it over to the dealership and they turned the iba off. 2 weeks later i was driving with my mom and daughter and it happened again on the same bridge!!! We were stunned as the car stopped and our seatbelts tightened. Again, no accident, as no one was driving too close behind me. Once again i drove right to the dealership where they kept my car. It was there for 28 days while technicians from bosch and infiniti came to test my car over several trips back and forth testing new software. It did happen to the technicians with my car as well on he same road along with another jx from the lot with iba. Nissan infiniti corporation did nothing to help me get out of this car, their consumer affairs dept is horrible. My dealership did help, and got me out of the car with my full money back. Even with my money back, i am unsettled knowing this can happen to someone else.

2013 Infiniti Jx35 - 5N1AL0MM1DC- Ocean, NJ: July 13th, 2012
I leased my jx in june 2012. This is the vehicle's 1st model yr (released in april 2012). I leased it because i have two young children, i am 24 weeks pregnant, and the jx boasts many many safety features. One of these safety features is the intellect brake assist(iba). If the vehicle senses you are about to have a front end crash, it will automatically bring the vehicle to an immediate stop. After purchasing the vehicle, i read online that there is a glitch with the iba - that it was engaging the brakes even when no accident was eminent. I drove straight to the dealer asking to disconnect/turn off the options that allow the vehicle to stop automatically when in forward motion. They said that what i read online was an isolated incident (ironically in the area in which i reside) and that i shouldn't have any problems. I explained that i wanted it turned off anyway - i didn't feel safe knowing that it could happen to me. When the vehicle stops, it jerks the seatbelt tight, and i don't want that risk to my unborn child unless an accident is actually about to occur. They took the car in and when it emerged they assured me that all of the frontal brake assistance was turned off. 12 days later i was driving w/my 7 yr old, and when i drove over a bridge, the vehicle came to a dead stop, and all of our seatbelts locked up. Fortunately, the driver in the vehicle behind me was able to stop in enough time that he didn't hit me. I called the dealer where i leased the vehicle, and the service department explained to me that it is a known problem, and infiniti is working on a fix. I have learned that this problem has been known since may 2012 which is prior to my purchase. I am also told that this particular bridge is the only culprit in the entire country because it has too much metal. I will not drive this vehicle and jeopardize the lives of my family and others.

2008 Infiniti M35 - JNKAY01F68M- Colorado Springs, CO: July 8th, 2012
Getting uncontrollable steering vibration at the steering wheel. Even purchased brand new tires and got a front end allignment and nothing seems to help.

2000 Infiniti Qx4 - JNRAR07Y4YW- Danvers, MA: June 23rd, 2012
Unusually high amount of, rust & corrosion (large rotted out holes) on exterior front fenders, both driver side and passenger. I beleive it is related to most recent recal in regards to front wheel wells in high salt locations of the country. Dealer would not fix the rust, when i went in for that recall. No other rust on vehicle, only those areas of front fenders, which happen to be right next to defective wheels well / strut housing area, that was the reason for the most recent recall! The rust / corrosion, is on the identical location on each fender! I am no expert, but based on the extreme amount of bubbling of the paint it is obvious the corrosion started on the underside of both fenders and worked its way out to the exterior. *tt

2013 Infiniti Jx35 - 5N1AL0MM0DC- San Ramon, CA: June 22nd, 2012
There is an intermitent problem with the functioning of the passenger airbag. Approximately 50% of the time that there is a passenger sitting in the passenger seat the passenger airbag is turned off. These are adult passengers with weights from 125lbs to 185lbs and heights 5ft 7in to 6ft 6in. Infiniti engineers have been unable to fix the problem. The passenger airbags should be switched on all the time with adult passengers therefore this is a serious safety issue. As all the passenger seat sensors have been checked and are ok this raises serious questions about the integrity of the computer systems controlling the car. *tt

2005 Infiniti Q45 - JNKBF01A05M- Hollywood, SC: June 20th, 2012
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti q45. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, another vehicle crashed into her passenger side. The air bags did not deploy and the front driver's seat twisted toward the driver's door during the crash. The contact suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,000.

2008 Infiniti Qx56 - 5N3AA08C58N- Simpsonville, SC: June 12th, 2012
The brakes on my 2008 infiniti qx56 failed at an intersection today, causing me to go through a stop sign at an intersection. The brake pedal went to the floor and a sporadic grinding noise was heard and felt in the brake pedal. The brake indicator light was illuminated in the instrument cluster. The vehicle coasted to a stop. I pumped the brakes, but had no brake pressure. I put the vehicle in park, then turned it off. When i restarted the vehicle, the brake indicator light was no longer illuminated, and the brakes appeared to be working again. I immediately took the vehicle to my infiniti dealer since this is my primary form of transportation and i have 3 young children. The dealer informed me that the fault code indicated my vehicle had a faulty brake booster, which would need to be replaced for approx. $1000 (parts and labor). They informed me that although they had seen multiple qx56's with this problem come into their dealership, nissan did not have a recall in place. I find this to be unacceptable. I am lucky none of my 3 children were in the car with me at the time, and that no accident resulted from my brake failure.

2011 Infiniti M37 - JN1BY1APXBM- San Tan Valley, AZ: June 4th, 2012
I leased my infiniti m37 sport the first month it came out in 2010 (2011 model). The first day i drove the car the issues were apparent. I drove it directly back to the dealership, they said everything was fine.. Its learning your driving style.. (i too have had mercedes, bmw, audi etc that learn your driving style) this was not the case. Well, now i am at 33,000 miles and the issues have only gotten worse. Its been to the dealer a number of times for the jumpy stops... When breaking (normal non aggressive) the tranny wants to jump forward and almost hit the person in front of me. Its extremely scary and infiniti has nothing to say about this? It not only does that but when breaking it downshifts bad and bumps at times. With the ac on i noticed it does all of this more frequently, although the issues are always there. Now it randomly drops rpm's almost down to stalling then kicks it back up (catches it self - large rpm swings) while at a complete stop. I've done the ecu flashes and other tricks that have done absolutely nothing. Sad thing is this car has one of the best designs and most amazing interiors, just one of the worst engine set ups ever... Very dangerous and there has been a number of times my car almost jumped forward while braking and hit the person in front of me. I am really upset, can someone please look into this, there are a ton of complaints online and no one is being held accountable for a fix. Please see this link to see some of the issues, i thought i was the only one, but that's not the case. Please help!

2012 Infiniti Qx56 - JN8AZ2NF9C9- Balemont, CA: April 25th, 2012

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti g37s. The contact stated that while merging off an exit ramp at 60 mph, he attempted to shift into a lower gear but the clutch remained stuck in neutral. The contact was unable to shift gears. The contact safely merged onto the shoulder with the gear in neutral. 2007 Infiniti M35 - JNKAY01E87M- Austin , TX: April 18th, 2012
2006 and 2007 infiniti m35's have well documented problems with the seat track breaking. It actually starts off by the seat sliding back and forth during braking and accelerating. It then gets progressively worse as time goes on till the seat rail itself breaks. At that point the seat moves and leans into the center console. I had a 2006 infiniti m35 with this problem and i now have a 2007 infiniti m35 with it. The dealer cost to fix is $1200. 00. Infiniti owners are not having this fixed due to the cost and are driving a vehicle that should be considered a safety hazard. Infiniti will not fix this if its out of warranty. This should be considered a recall. I only hope that this small complaint will be the one that makes something happen. Thank you. *js

2008 Infiniti G37 - JNKCV64E08M- San Juan, PR: April 17th, 2012
I understand the cars symptoms are the same described in infiniti's itb07048 bulletin (sudden acceleration), i was told the fix is free in the us but infiniti in puerto rico wants to charge for this safety issue fix. I understand puerto rico has the same regulations as in the us when transit is referred to. Why is it not a recall? *js

2007 Infiniti M35 - JNKAY01F27M- Kent, WA: April 16th, 2012
Steering wheel tramlnes and wanders. Unsafe lane changing. Before the car comes to a full stop, the steering wheel may come to rest at a 30 degree angle. *js
