2003 Gmc Yukon - 1GKFK16Z93J- Asbury, NM: August 29th, 2012
I was driving on a 2 lane highway coming to an intersection to make a left turn. The left hand traffic signal arrow was green as i approach the light, appox 300 feet away the arrow light turn yellow, i took my foot off the accelerator to hit the breaks and they went to the floor, on coming traffic was still stopped when i realized i was not stopping and had to go through the red arrow light. I tried to use my emergency break after making the turn on red, that break also went to the floor but seem to slow me down enough so i could pull into a mall parking lot and hit the curb side to stop the vehicle completely.

This is a recurring problem and should be on a recall.

2011 Gmc Acadia - 1GKKVTED9BJ- Midland, MI: August 20th, 2012
My 2011 gmc acadia (denali) has now been taken into the dealership 3 times (and likely an upcoming 4th) due to the right front power door lock and window (and rear hatch) working intermittently over the past year. They have tried to replaced the door module and reprogrammed it. The next time, they replaced both the male and female terminals in the connector and applied some grease. Not exactly sure what they did the third time. My concern is that it just happened again although after 24 hours it was fine. I understand gm currently has a recall out for suvs but for more older vehicles = fire, smoke, other are linked to electrical problems with the door unit. Just wondering if my vehicle is having the same issue even though its 5 years newer. There has been no recall on my vehicle as of yet.

2005 Gmc 2500 - 1GTHK29G75E- Hamburg, NY: August 20th, 2012
The 2005 gmc 2500hd fwd (well maintained and oiled to prevent corrosion) experienced a failure while towing my 24' pursuit fishing boat (7200 lbs. ) home from sturgeon point marina to hamburg, ny 14075 (approximately 10 miles) with "minimal" stopping capability as the dot 3 brake fluid was being expelled. I had to feature the throttle to negotiate stopping senarios without issue. As of 8/20/12, this vehicle is with fuccillo chevrolet, inc. (grand island, ny) for overhaul of entire braking system; including fuel lines. The certified technician suggested the entire brake lines system be replaced along with the fuel lines due to extreme corrosion. All this work is being performed since the excellent condition of the vehicle. The estimate for this work is approximately $2250 to replace all lines (brake / gas) affected by severe corrosion. This condition is a result of poor material selection not capable of withstanding normal winter conditions found in the northeast. The same standards should be used as selecting exhaust system material. Brakes can kill you.... Exhaust systems can not! Final note: truck driven 50 miles per week to work (10 miles each day). During winter months, the residual salt is rinsed as required on a weekly basis (or sooner) to prevent corrosion. This truck prior to winter driving has had oil applied to the underframe, apparently, the brake / fuel line where not adequately treated.
