2010 Cadillac Cts - 1G6DE5EG4A0- Lutz, FL: August 24th, 2012
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 cadillac cts. While parked, the contact placed the vehicle in drive when it suddenly accelerated independently. The contact depressed the brake pedal continuously until the vehicle came to a stop. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician advised the contact that the power brake booster auxiliary pump would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Immediately after the repair, the failure recurred. The technicians inspected the vehicle and advised the contact that a fuse to the auxiliary vacuum pump failed and would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 21,877. Kmj


2004 Cadillac Deville - 1G6KD57Y24U- Maryville, MO: August 23rd, 2012
Vehicle overheated, engine went into protect mode, driver info center directed me to shut down vehicle, i pulled off to the side of the road promptly and shut vehicle down. I waited for 15 minutes, turned ignition to on position, and it read it was cooled down enough to drive. I took off onto the road again, a half a mile later, i had to do the same thing. I waited 30 minutes for a some one to meet me at the location, this person restarted the vehicle and drove it 2 miles to my house, where it overheated again in the driveway. After replacing the water pump, belts, thermostat, and radiator, it was discovered that the head bolts were indeed what was causing the vehicle to overheat. The mechanic found that they were at the incorrect torque and that there was combustion chemicals in the cooling system. I now am replacing the gaskets, bolts, and may have to get the heads machined, but work has not been completed on the vehicle as of yet.

Although i loved the car overall at the time i decided to own, , my dream car cadillac cts has turned into my dream nightmare. Cadillac cts 3. 6 2008 when i get on it a little bit acceleration it makes a sound that sounds like all air leaks inside the car. The dealer was reported ever since my first early visit to service center but it's only during my last visit to the dealer they mentioned gm has sanctioned approval ie. At the time the odometer reads 65000km? Strange! The door locks are terrible? Despite rectifying; time and again by your dealer the problem still persist to date. Safety hazard indeed. The computer had error as for tyre low air pressure very bad on safety standards. On 12th aug 2012 while i was en-route to the cadillac service center the vehicle had a break down. On the display screen near odometer it displayed engine temperature too high?. Due to this i had to pull the car towards safety and got stranded in the middle of the road under the hot sun. How can you justify a car which is regularly maintained by your authorized agency at regular periodic intervals to have such a fate? I felt it was good to have it serviced during my absence in town before the regular km interval; but, only to get stranded on the road in the hot sun. It is indeed, too much to suffer after buying a car of gm flagship brand < cadillac > and suffer agony on the road side. Not to mention the dealerships warranty you provide with the purchase of the new car from your authorized agents, probably don't fix anything with the warranty service program. If the job was right then the engine should not have over heated especially when the car is just run 71000 kms. Approx...


2010 Cadillac Escalade - 1GYUKCEF1AR- Victorville, CA: August 21st, 2012
Second lemon from the texas plant. First was 07 gmc yukon with massive electrical problems. This new cadillac, also made in arlington, has had several issues with the same rear pass door, door latch, window seals and warped door frame. After multiple trips to dealer the problem still exists. Both auto running board motors have needed replacing and parts have been changed out several times. After a few thousand miles all 8 lifters in the engine needed replacing and now the truck is sluggish and "out of sync". The air conditioner went out after a few hundred miles and required an entire new hvac system, new hoses, mounts, vents etc. The front pass leather seat needed replacement because of poor quality. The paint in several areas has flaked and has been to the body shop three x's for paint repair. Gm has been forced to take it back under the lemon law in calif. Back to back problems from the texas plant on separate gm products, both brand new and driven less than 10,000 miles per year. Never buy anything built in the texas plant, there seems to be big issues there.

Fuel line is leaking and can cause a fire. There was a recall on this part in 1993. There saying there is no open recall on the fuel lines. The description of the recall in 1993 is exactly what is going on with my fuel lines. Its spraying fuel out of one of the lines by the engine.


2005 Cadillac Deville - 1G6KD54Y754- Palm Springs, CA: August 13th, 2012
I backed out of my driveway, shifted to drive, began driving on my street and the wheel came off and the car hit the ground. The drivers side ball joint broke. Had i been on the freeway, this would have caused a multi-car accident with injury and or death to many people. Oem ball joints, especially on an expensive car like a cadillac deville, should have a lifetime or the same life expectancy as the other major components, including the frame. It is an engineering defect (inferior metal strength and quality) for a ball joint on a cadillac to "break" for no reason. It should be forbidden and punitive for a balljoint on a cadillac to break before 300,000 miles. Why should consumers be forced to play russian roulette with their lives???? A good quality product that is permanently lubed as in the cadillac line, should be reliable for the life of the vehicle. Anything else is the same as attempted murder and should be forbidden or punished. The public must be protected from this type of suicidal journey in a reasonably new vehicle that has been maintained.


1993 Cadillac Seville - 1G6KY5295U8- Conroe, TX: August 13th, 2012
The fuel line is leaking. It could start a fire and i have children. I found a recall on this already on another site but didn't know if it would still be valid to get it replaced. I just bought the vehicle from an individual and then 2 months after this happened. Consequence: (fuel leaks in the engine compartment can result in underhood fires if exposed to a source of ignition) summary: (the fuel feed and return lines to the engine fuel injection system were not fully assembled and locked. The lines can work loose) remedy: (dealer will inspect vehicle and, if necessary adjust or replace the fuel feed and return lines to the engine fuel injection system) i have a 1993 cadillac seville sts v8 4. 6l that's what the recall said about the recall on this car. I have tried to buy new part but it is discontinued i am assuming because there's a recall.


2011 Cadillac Srx - 3GYFNAEYXBS- Ft. Myers, FL: August 13th, 2012
The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that when driving at any speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer for repairs. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 11v595000 (power train: automatic transmission) but did not receive confirmation that the vehicle was included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 17,000 and the current mileage was 28,000.

2007 Cadillac Srx - 1GYEE637570- Baltimore, MD: August 10th, 2012
The contact owns a 2007 cadillac srx. The contact was driving 45 mph when the anti-lock braking system engaged, causing the vehicle to decelerate. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer for a diagnostic test which determined a defective pcm. The dealer reprogrammed the pcm, replaced the rear brakes, rotors and a steering column sensor however, none of the repairs remedied the brake problem. The failure mileage was 78,000.


2010 Cadillac Srx - 3GYFNFEY1AS- Latrobe, PA: August 4th, 2012
Srx 4-spontaneous shear of right rear tie rod/bar while traveling 65 mph on major multi-lane highway, daylight, dry weather conditions. No bells or whistles. Lost control of direction of travel swerving between lanes as speed slowed and/or attempting to apply brakes. Noted loud squealing noise and rear-end sparking for several miles until a safe offroad stop was accomplished. Defensive drivers behind and beside me avoided impact and catastrophic event. Flat bed required. Offload of vehicle from the flat bed and movement to repair bay, required mechanic's to "manually" kick the wobbling, markedly tilted wheels upright to direct auto travel in a straight line. Dealer evaluation found right rear tie bar sheared, and left rear tie bar link loose. Dealer mechanic reported corrosion and part defect, specifics of report not shared. Dealer reported "repaired under warranty and vehicle operates as designed. " personal vehicle use specifics include no offroad use, only dealer service, several electrical warranty repairs, most recent dealer service was oil change/lube 6/23/2012 , and air bag module replacement (warranty) 7/5/2012.


2012 Cadillac Cts - 1G6DA1E38C0- Philadelphia, PA: August 2nd, 2012
The contact owns a 2012 cadillac cts. The contact stated that the instrument panel and the door were not properly aligned. The contact was able to erroneously place his hand between the door and the instrument panel on the driver side, with additional space remaining. When the contact placed his hand between the passenger side door and the dashboard, there was no space. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who offered no assistance and advised that there was a manufacturing flaw. The manufacturer was notified who offered no assistance and would make no restitution. The contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 1,600.

The contact owns a 2002 cadillac deville. The contact stated that once the fuel gauge reached the one quarter full mark, the fuel level gauge would reset to full. The vehicle had not been diagnosed for the failure however, the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 03v238000 (fuel system,gasoline:storage:tank assembly) but was advised by the manufacturer that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 103,000.

The contact owns a 1996 cadillac eldorado. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, he noticed that the instrument panel lights were flashing before completely failing. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted and but provided no assistance. The failure and the current mileage was 61,200.

My 2006 cadillac srx has a very hard start up and engine is very loud was starting. Check engine light is constantly on. Had check engine light checked and return codes are p0008 and p0017. Gm knows this is a problem in these vehicles and fails to place a recall out to correct the issue. I buy nothing but cadillacs but i am very upset about this issue!!!! I think gm really needs to take care of this!!!!!!

The mechanic stated the fuel pump assembly and module would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.

Ecm has replaced two times and the car keeps having electrical problem and will not accelerate. The problem happens atleast every 4-6 months after replacing ecm.

Windshield wiper motor will not shut off once turned on. Intermittent does not work at all. Must stop the vehicle, turn off the motor and remove the key from ignition in order to stop the windshield wipers. Everytime the wipers are turned on this happens... Everytime. How does someone drive on a freeway having to stop their vehicle everytime they need to turn on a windshield wiper? This defect is on thousands of cts's... Maybe hundreds of thousands of cadillacs according to the website clubs.... And is a $1,000 repair. Gm should fix this defect for free. It is extremely dangerous while driving.


2011 Cadillac Cts Wagon - 1G6DV8EP8B0- Clawson, MI: June 24th, 2012
Was driving vehicle in sporting manner when the side curtain air bags deployed and the seat belt pretensioners fired. There was absolutely no roll over imminent. Safety devices went off completely unnecessarily.


2012 Cadillac Srx - 3GYFNDE32CS- Pittsburgh, PA: June 21st, 2012
When i was loading items into the rear of my car, the close button was accidently hit, the hatch came down and hit me in the head and my arm. It did not stop and reverse, i had to get out of the way. I tried it again, and when i put my arm out to stop the hatch to see if it would reverse, it put so much pressure on my arms that they became black and blue. I am concerned that what if this was a child, if it needs that much pressure to stop and reverse, what would happen to a child. I had the car looked at where i bought it and they said that, that is how much pressure is needed to stop. , i had a 2010 srx, and it did not need that much pressure to stop. As soon as the hatch hit something, it stopped and reserved back up. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and can the hatch be adjusted. *tt
