2005 Acura Mdx - 2HNYD18275H- Orland Park, IL: August 22nd, 2012
While driving the suv in a busy street 30-45mph felt the vibration, grinding, the triangle distress sign came on and felt the vehicle is going to stall. Managed to get the suv to the parking lot on the right side. The suv completely stalled there and we got it towed to the acura dealer. They looked at it and the technician gave us the initial diagnosis as "radiator has blown coolant line , fluids have cross contaminated and will take a lot of time to bleed out, also possible transmission failure in the process would need to retest drive after radiator replacement to see if transmission works".

2006 Acura Rl - JH4KB16516C- Castle Rock, CO: August 21st, 2012
Driving down steep "s" turn in mountains when battery cable disconnected and all of car's systems shut down. No brakes, no steering, no power. Worst part was that doors locked and we could not unlock them nor the windows. Extremely frightening. There was no cell phone service where we were. If not for forest ranger who came along, because of car being partly into one of the lanes of this two-lane road, we would have roasted to death. Nobody else stopped in spite of "help" signs. There was no inside manual exit from car. Ranger had to jiggle and hold battery connection until we could unlock car. We were just lucky we weren't either going faster or in area with no mountain to the side of us where we might have gone off cliff. We were on a dangerous curve and were scared to death someone would hit us from behind. Rangers and one of us directed traffic until tow truck arrived 1-1/2 hrs later. The battery was only a couple months old. Tow truck said wrong battery had been installed at time of change and that it "popped" the clamps that ensure connection and a charge on the battery. But losing a battery connection shouldn't mean someone is going to lose their life! We had four people in the car, and we all feel we barely escaped.

2007 Acura Rl - JH4KB16647C- Richmond, TX: August 20th, 2012
The drivers door will not open with the door handle from the inside or outside, the drivers window will not go down , you are lock in from the drivers side.

2007 Acura Mdx - 2HNYD28537H- Lawton, OK: August 19th, 2012
Only after 30k the car started acting up and started showing engine lights, sometimes stalling for a sec when accelerating. The car has been kept in a great shape, on time oil change, atf changed before 30k and engine flushed at 30k. The car is only 5 years old.

2011 Acura Mdx - 2HNYD2H60BH- Tulsa, OK: August 17th, 2012
I was stopped at a stop light when a pick up truck hit my car from behind. I was wearing my seatbelt and my seat was positioned at an appropriate distance from the steering wheel. After my head first hit the headrest from the initial impact, my head flew forward and hit the steering wheel. I had a bump on my forehead and a headache afterward (followed by a black eye the next day). Fortunately, a cat scan confirmed that my injury was not serious. Because i was concerned about whether my seatbelt was working or not, i took my acura to my local acura dealer to have the seatbelts checked. They told me that my seatbelts were working as they should. I am still concerned, however, about my seatbelt's reliability in a collision. I can't say whether or not my seatbelt locked at some point during my accident because it happened so quickly and unexpectedly that i, frankly, don't remember. But i do know that it didn't keep me from hitting my steering wheel.

2003 Acura Mdx - 2HNYD18263H- Fayetteville, NC: August 17th, 2012
Front driver and passenger airbags suddenly deployed at 15 mphr for no obvious reason - heat from the deployed airbags caused skin burns on drivers forearm.

2004 Acura Tl - 19UUA6244AC- Colfax, NC: August 13th, 2012
While driving we heard a loud pop that sounded like a very large rock hit the windshield. While inspecting the windshield we noticed that the noise had come from the dashboard splitting. The area covering the passenger side airbag has split and the entire dash, withing just a few days, has split from the initial 4 inch split to about 8 inches. I am concerned that this could affect airbag deployment as the decreased resistance could mean the airbag deployment speed is greater. (worth noting: we purchased this car new and it has been garage kept its entire life. Also, when the car is in the sun i always use a sunshield. )

2008 Acura Rdx - 5J8TB18568A- Fishkill, NY: August 7th, 2012
The front brakes on my 2008 acura rdx make a loud grinding noise when applied on a slight downgrade or when stopping slightly harder than normal. I experienced w/ original brakes, repeated visits to dealer heard & found nothing. At time of brake replacement, brakes were fine, noise started again about 15k miles into the new brakes. Took to dealer on sat they again find nothing report pads/rotors normal. The dealership now states that acura is aware and has no fix for the problem. The brakes feel like they are grabbing onto the rotor. Feel mushy, rubbing and slow to stop. The sound is similar to metal to metal grinding. Had a loaner and brakes were 1000% more stable.

2012 Acura Tl - 19UUA9F74CA- Furlong, PA: July 28th, 2012
Turned corner in large center city and hit a construction large pot hole and/or obstruction on the left rear. After completing turn onto a narrow one-way street acceleration increased, brakes did not work, engine could not be turned off, gears could not move. After going through two major intersections without accident i kept pulling on the emergency brake. The car slowly stopped and was then perfectly normal. Could use the brakes, shift, etc. I parked overnight in a garage. Had the car towed to dealer the next day (7/21/12), where it is still unresolved. Dealer said car is ok, but is now being analyzed by acura corporate engineers. I had three other people who were in the car at the time, including my wife, who will not ever go into this car. The car was only 10 days after purchasing.

2009 Acura Tsx - JH4CU26609C- Silver Spring, MD: June 6th, 2012
When i took my car in for maintenance last year (9/11) they mentioned that at my next service visit i may need brakes. I was astounded given the low mileage and the fact that all my past cars never needed brakes this soon. The car was only two years old. I recently took my tsx in for b12 service (5/12) which cost over $400. I could not believe that i would need replacement brakes so did not authorize it. I only have 25,000 miles. The service representative claimed it was my driving style. Everyone said it was just the dealership advising unnecessary work. The next day after service my left rear wheel started to squeal. When they removed the tires for the b12 service they evidently put the defective pad back on incorrectly. That day, i mentioned my brake issue to a friend and they informed about the defect and the class action suite. Of course the service reps knew all along and never took responsibility. They could have offered me a discount on the brakes and explained the issue they were having with the 2009 tsx brakes. This could be a serious safety issue. Additionally, i noticed a rust spot on my passenger side below the door their year (4/12). I have had no accidents. I thought with modern metals and paints this issue no longer existed. Particularly with a new car and a acura. Once again they blamed me and said it was my responsibility. There must have had a "impact". None that was visible of course.

2007 Acura Mdx - 2HNYD28437H- El Dorado Hills, CA: June 5th, 2012
The sidewalls are cracking and peeling off of these tires. My car was purchased in july 2007 and these are the original tires. I only have 23,000 miles on the car.

2007 Acura Mdx - 2HNYD28527H- Newmarket, NH: June 5th, 2012
Recently i had to change my wife's car tire due to a flat. I used the factory acura scissor jack to do it. While i had stepped away from the jack stand to get the spare tire, the jack had collapsed and essentially the metal structure of the jack had folded a bit. The car slammed to the ground with my wife and 1 year old inside the car (it was raining out). I contacted acura support about having them simply replace the unusable jack stand with a new one. They politely told me to pound sand. I have some pics of the bent jack that i can share. I had contacted the us consumer product safety commission and they recommended i file a complaint with the nhtsa.
